You may have recently heard about how Amazon is dipping into the past and bringing back the 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sewer Playset back into circulation.
Well, that's not all. It's not the first time Amazon has secured the bag on a classic TMNT toy set, as last year it also exclusively released the "Technodrome Playset" as a reimagined classic toy. Following up on the interest in the TMNT Classic Sewer Set preorders (with it currently topping Amazon's toy charts), the online retail giant has now heavily discounted the Technodrome Playset as part of a limited-time lightning deal, bringing it down to its lowest price ever. It can now be bought for $32.84 at Amazon, almost 60% off its original list price of $79.99. And at that price, for TMNT fans, it could be incredibly hard to argue against picking it up as well before the reimagined Sewer Set ships in September. Both sets are "authentically sculpted and decorated to match the original release," according to the Amazon listing page, and are even rocking the original 1980s retro designs on the box for that extra bit of nostalgic edge. IGN's deals team recently broke the news of new Sewer playset going up for preorder on their instagram and it's already pretty clear that Amazon has hit the perfect nostalgic vein with this re-release. Something that I loved is how commenters on the Insta-post were chiming in with heaps of adoration for the classic sets, recounting amazing stories of playing with it with their siblings and friends while watching the 1987 TMNT cartoon series so many of us grew up on. Some even expressed disappointment for not being able to get it while they were young, but now filled with excitement at the fact they can finally get their hands on it. Following up on this with a major discount on its another classic TMNT set, the 1990's Technodrome, is fairly smart move from Amazon, and could excite fans just the same. While adults are quickly becoming one of the biggest markets in the toy industry, we certainly wouldn't be surprised if more and more classic toys get brought back.
