The Next Big Romantasy Novel Releases Tomorrow and It Already Has a Movie Deal
Do you plan on reading it?

Romantasy has really taken off in recent years, with emerging authors coming through left and right, and even TikTok (BookTok) further boosting the genre's popularity in 2025. Romantasy author Rebecca Yarros released a new Fourth Wing novel earlier this year, and it continues to sit at the top of pretty much every list of best-sellers for 2025 since then. And in the ebook space, that same series has dominated Amazon's list of top-selling Kindle books with all three novels sitting in the top three spots. Considering those levels of popularity, it's certainly not surprising that such a series would have an adaptation already in the works.
What is surprising is that an entirely new romantasy novel, yet to be released, already landed a movie deal. Alchemised is an upcoming book by SenLinYu that releases on September 23, but Legendary Pictures has reportedly paid more than $3 million for movie rights to the story before it's even available to the public. This is most likely because the novel has roots in the world of Harry Potter fanfiction, which gives it the potential to pull in a big audience from an existing fantasy franchise. No matter the reason, this deal seems like a sign that the romantasy genre is starting to hit peak levels of interest. As an avid reader of romantasy myself, I certainly feel compelled enough by the news to give it a read and see what the hype is about.
Where to Buy Alchemised by SenLinYu
If you're intrigued by the premise of this book, or are just interested in what makes it worth a $3 million-dollar deal, you can pick up a copy pretty much everywhere right now at a discount. If you're looking for an ebook version of the novel, Amazon has the Kindle version for only $14.99. Unfortunately since it's a popular new release, you won't be able to read it for free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription. Amazon also has physical copies of the hardcover edition at discount, which is also available at Barnes & Noble for $24.50. Barnes & Noble is the only place that has signed copies of the book available online for $35, so if you are looking for that version you'll have to buy it there for full price.
There's Also an Audiobook Version Available
If you prefer to listen to your books rather than read them, there's also an audiobook version releasing at the same time as the hardcover and Kindle Edition. It's narrated by Saskia Maarleveld, who has a wide array of experience with romance and other closely related genres. You can choose to purchase the audiobook for $25.99 or grab a free trial of Audible to listen at no initial cost (if you're a new subscriber).
