Fallout: Season 2 Exclusive Poster Featuring New Vegas Revealed

IGN can exclusively debut the new poster (seen below) for Fallout: Season 2, which is slated to premiere on Prime Video in December.

As featured on this new poster, Fallout: Season 2 takes place in New Vegas. We see our returning heroes Lucy MacLean, The Ghoul, Maximus, and The Ghoul’s dog companion, Dogmeat, on the outskirts of New Vegas.

Social media posts from the set suggest fans will see the New Vegas Strip – including iconic locales like the Lucky 38 Resort and Casino and The Tops as well as roadside landmark Dinky the T-Rexbefore and after the nuclear war. New Vegas was teased at the end of Fallout: Season 1 where Power Armor-clad Overseer Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) is seen approaching the city limits.

Here's the new poster for the second season of Fallout:

Fans should remember that the Fallout show takes place after the events of the games and is considered canon. Co-showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet said in an April 2024 interview that Season 2 is set 15 years after the events depicted in Fallout: New Vegas and that fans shouldn’t expect New Vegas to be exactly as it was in that game.

“All we really want the audience to know is that things have happened, so that there isn't an expectation that we pick the show up in season two, following one of the myriad canon endings that depend on your choices when you play [Fallout: New Vegas],” Wagner said.

“With that post-credits stuff, we really wanted to imply, guys, the world has progressed, and the idea that the wasteland stays as it is decade-to-decade is preposterous to us. It’s just a place [of] constant tragedy, events, horrors — there's a constant churn of trauma. We're definitely implying more has occurred.”

The showrunners have also confirmed that Robert House, aka Mr. House, is in Season 2. “Las Vegas in the world of Fallout is Robert House’s town. Robert House will be involved in Season 2,” Wagner said. Robert House made a cameo during a pre-war sequence in Fallout: Season 1.

In the games, Mr. House’s consciousness is plugged into a super-computer which has allowed him to exist for hundreds of years since the war. He rules New Vegas from his Lucky 38 casino.

News of Mr. House’s inclusion in Season 2 triggered a fan debate over which Fallout: New Vegas ending is canon since the TV series is also considered canon.

In addition to Mr. House, fans can also expect to finally see Deathclaws in Fallout: Season 2.

Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Walton Goggins all reprise their roles in Fallout: Season 2 where they will be joined by a new addition to the cast, Macaulay Culkin, who plays “a crazy genius-type character.”

Fallout has already been renewed for a third season.

Fallout is produced by Kilter Films, with executive producers Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham. Todd Howard, Bethesda Game Studios, executive produces along with James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.

Attendees at next week's gamescom can expect Fallout: Season 2 to have a presence at Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 19.
