DC Reveals Epic New Batman/Deadpool Crossover Art

Even as superhero fans gear up for the release of Deadpool/Batman #1 in September, there's more crossover fun on the way. DC has its own crossover special, Batman/Deadpool #1, hitting stores in November. And today the company finally unveiled new story details and a gorgeous lineup of variant covers.

Check out the slideshow gallery below to see all of the many covers for Batman/Deadpool #1, including the first new licensed Wolverine art from Jim Lee in decades:

Batman/Deadpool #1 is written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Dan Mora, with a main cover by Mora. The full lineup of cover artists includes:

  • Dan Mora – Batman/Deadpool wraparound
  • Lee Bermejo – The Joker/Doctor Doom
  • Mark Brooks – Zatanna/Scarlet Witch
  • Jim Cheung and Jay David Ramos – Wonder Woman/Captain America
  • Amanda Conner and Alex Sinclair – Harley Quinn/Hulk
  • Nick Dragotta and Frank Martin – Batman/The Punisher
  • Jenny Frison – Wonder Woman/Storm
  • Andy Kubert and Alejandro Sánchez – Robin (Damian Wayne)/Gambit

  • Ryan Sook – Batman/Deadpool — a Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 homage
  • Sozomaika – Catwoman/Emma Frost

Batman/Deadpool #1 sounds every bit as surreal and mind-bending as you'd expect from this creative team, with DC's description making it plain this is a very self-aware and meta take on the crossover concept. DC's description teases, "it’s a metaphysical car crash between two storytelling philosophies. One character broods in the shadows of trauma and justice. The other cartwheels through chaos, breaking the fourth wall and occasionally the laws of physics. Together, they’re forced to confront a threat that doesn’t just endanger their worlds—it questions their very existence as fictional constructs."

As with Deadpool/Batman #1, the main story will be accompanied by several backup features pairing other DC and Marvel characters. Writers Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson are teaming with artist Hayden Sherman for a John Constantine/Doctor Strange story. Nightwing creators Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo will reunite for a Nightwing/Wolverine crossover. Mariko Tamaki and Amanda Conner are collaborating on a Harley Quinn vs. Hulk story. And, finally, G. Willow Wilson and Denys Cowan will team for a Static Shock/Ms. Marvel crossover.

Batman/Deadpool #1 is priced at $7.99 for the main cover and $8.99 for the variants. This issue will be released on November 19, 2025.
